R.I.P. Sabrina

San Francisco Rest Days: 10/26 - 11/2
Total Distance: 1,349

I ended up taking my bike into REI since Novara is their brand, and I bought it from them.  I was thinking i'd just go in there and get the rack replaced and a nice little tune-up for the rest of my trip.  The bike tech tells me she's never seen this happen to this bike before.  And unfortunately it turned out that it wasn't anything they could fix in-store because it's technically part of the frame.  The only solution was to just replace the whole bike.  Umm, well that sucks.  The good news is that I got a brand new bike for free.  The bad news is that I had to send mine back in and wait until they send the store a new one.  I want to note that REI was super helpful in this process and did their best to make a crappy situation as easy as possible.  I love REI!
Goodbye, Sweet Sabrina.

So I'm stuck in San Francisco, with a beautiful place to stay, with one of my best friends, during Halloween, and it just so happens to be my birthday week as well.  Things could be worse!  While waiting for my bike, I got to be an actual tourist in San Francisco for the first time.  I used the public transportation to get around and see all the things, visited various coffee shops, ate some In-N-Out on my birthday, we had a costume party, it literally couldn't have been any better.  AND one of my other best friend's just so happened to be in the city for the weekend as well.  We partied, ate good food, met good people, drank good drink, and went wine tasting in Napa.  It's going to be hard to leave this place tomorrow, but i'm greatful for the time I got to spend here!  Here's some photos:
